Facebook Introduces Hackers Cup 2011

Social Networking site Facebook has announced a new kind of competition for hackers. Dubbed the Hackers cup, the competition introduced by the Facebook, will see competitors solve a number of algorithmic-based problem statements quickly and correctly.

The Registration which opens December 20 will have participants compete in 3 rounds. The 25 competitors who score the highest in the second online round will advance to the finals which will be held at Facebook’s Campus on Palo Alto. The Incentives will be $5,000 USD and title as “world champion” for the top hacker, $2,000 for 2nd place, $1,000 for 3rd, and $100 for the rest of the top 25.
