“Rockmelt”Browser Is Soon Social Surfer’s Best Friend
Posted by pratyushkp
RockMelt is the latest new browser designed by a Mountain View startup company with social-networking features at its core. It comes packed with a lot of Chromium features including Incognito Mode, however, there are lots of design improvements. The most interesting feature is that it enables users to Share sites, links, and the like with friends and contacts easier than before.
The left side of the main screen browser is lined with Facebookcontacts, allowing facebook fans to chat or send links to others anytime they want to. The right side has feeds from those sites, so you can see at a glance updates from Twitter, an RSS feed, and more. Right next to the URL bar is a “Share” button that lets you instantly share that URL on Facebook or Twitter, for example. Thus this social media friendly browser is specially built to support Facebook and Twitter social networking integration.
RockMelt claims to speed up search times, too, by presenting Google search results in a separate window. That way, if users want to check out several search results, they don’t have to keep clicking the Back button in the browser, or flip back and forth between multiple tabs. Right now, RockMelt is in limited beta, so the company is only giving out the software to those who sign up for early access.
